Affordable Live/Work Spaces Don’t Come Along All That Often

I have a new listing which I am SUPER excited about because properties like these don’t come up that often and when they do they are rarely in this condition or this affordable. For instance, I just did an MLS search looking for commercial spaces in 63139 and 63109. I found a total of 27 properties listed. Of the 27 only 7 seemed to fit the LIVE/WORK criteria. (See their detailed MLS listings below). Of those only 3 were listed under 200K. One of those three listed under 200K, one is priced at $179,900 (just went under contract) but needs considerable updating both on the interior and the exterior. The other 4 range in price from $365,000-$525,000. Some are larger and so while the

LOCATION: the location is ideal. From here you can walk to all the restaurants and shops on The Hill, the grocery store, Tower Grove Park and Sublette Park. It is a highly visable corner with plenty of parking on the intersecting residential streets.

Housing Diversity in the 6th Ward

I went to one of our neighborhood meetings the other night and our Alderwoman, Kacie Starr Triplet, stopped by to give us an update and reminding us of everything going in the 6th Ward.This got me thinking about the 6th Ward in general.

The 6th ward includes Tower Grove East, The Loft District, Lafayette Square, The Gate District, Compton Heights and Compton Hill Reservoir Square (to mention just a few). According to Alderwoman Triplett’s website there are over “600 small and large businesses, including large employers such as Wells Fargo Advisors, AT & T and Ameren Missouri.”

I really like this part of the city. I love how diverse it is in terms of people, businesses and activities and architecture. This ward borders the commercial district on South and Grand and includes two other destination neighborhoods (Lafayette Square and the Loft District). There is always something going on in the 6th ward. On October 11th there was a 6th Ward Business Showcase and tomorrow night (15 October 2010) there will be an outdoor screening of Ghostbusters in Lucas Park. I know where I’ll be!
